Lice-Ban! The Newest Cattle Pour-On

Lice-Ban! The Newest Cattle Pour-On

Lice-Ban Product

LICE-BAN is Control Solutions’ newest production animal product. This ready-to-use pour-on formulation controls lice, flies and ticks on lactating and non-lactating dairy cattle, beef cattle, calves, horses and foals.  Lice-Ban has a zero-day pre-slaughter interval and milk discard time.

What Is It?

Lice-Ban is the latest product featuring Control Solutions’ Combination Chemistry.  It contains 2 active ingredients:  PERMETHRIN is a pyrethroid insecticide and acaricide; and DIFLUBENZURON is an insect growth regulator (IGR).

Combination Chemistry Logo

For the past several years, the product development team at CSI has focused on developing products with more than one mode of action (MOA). This thought process has led us to a Combination Chemistry® platform of product development. The goal at CSI is to develop effective and innovative solutions driven by market and customer need that also help PMPs in the fight against resistance.

How Does it Work?

Lice-Ban controls all stages of lice with a single application. The permethrin insecticide kills louse nymphs and adults, and the diflubenzuron IGR kills louse eggs so they don’t hatch. Lice are killed within 1 – 2 weeks.  Like most pour-on products, Lice-Ban will have a 2 – 4 weeks residual.  If treated animals are not reinfested (for example, by contact with untreated animals), they should be louse free for at least 8 weeks.

How To Apply Lice-Ban?

Lice-Ban can be applied with CSI’s pour-on gun, even at the low temperatures that frequently occur during the fall and winter louse season.  It should be applied at least 2 days before it’s forecast to rain, since it can take 2 days for pour-ons to spread and reach maximum effectiveness. Do not apply Lice-Ban outdoors during rain.
